• This paper describes the connection between the Inter-American Convention against Corruption and the Human Rights, considered an instrument for judicial administration, even when it does not refer directly to the protection of these rights. Nonetheless, ongoing corrupt practices in several countries have consequences that could impact on human rights, especially on the most vulnerable populations. In this sense, corruption is linked to criminal offenses committed by public officials, sometimes in collusion with members of civil society or legal entities, causing serious financial damage to the State by means of deviation of their resource for private purpose. This causes serious harm to the public institution’s budget, which hinders the fulfillment of their purpose. This Convention guides member States to enhance internal regulations, and to implement best practices and tool to prevent, prosecute, sanction and suppress corruption, by means of the MESICIC mechanism, that mitigates harmful effects and contributes to a worthy life. The approach of this research is qualitative, of documental type and descriptive scope. The data collecting instruments are bibliographical source, and MESICIC’s open source’s data base.
