Practical guide to improve child sexual abuse investigations

The objective of this research is to present a good practice guide aimed at justice operators involved in the investigation and solution of cases of Sexual Abuse in boys and girls, such as the fiscal agent in criminal matters, of childhood and adolescence. , child advocates, psychologists and those in charge of receiving complaints, among others. This guide can be considered as an improvement plan within the Public Prosecutor's Office, basically aimed at raising awareness regarding the cases of the aforementioned punishable act. The work has a field investigation carried out on the cases of Sexual Abuse in Children in the Luque Zonal Prosecutor's Office (years 2010/2011), with emphasis on the analysis of those that occurred in the intra-family sphere. The causes and characteristics that originate these abuses are exposed and the mechanisms to help the children who have been victims are determined. Likewise, a qualitative-quantitative situational matrix of analysis is presented to be applied according to weights of threats and vulnerabilities of the punishable act of sexual abuse in children, which is proposed to be analyzed in each specific case.
