Towards a coordinated and close relationship between the Public Ministry and the National Police of the Republic of Paraguay

The transition from dictatorship to democracy and from the inquisitorial to the accusatory system has not been easy to assimilate for justice operators in Paraguay, especially for the Public Ministry and the National Police. That is why, since 2005, various tools have been developed and perfected that are extremely useful for more efficient work and, at the same time, help to avoid the discomfort of society that cries out for timely justice. In addition to the various problems that can be identified for the correct application of the criminal process, it has been detected that the main one lies in the interrelationship between the requesting body (Public Ministry) and the investigator par excellence (National Police). Thus, both institutions focused their efforts to carry out a coordinated work that this exhibition describes historically, what have been the steps followed to improve efficiency and good results in the joint work of both institutions, to consolidate what Today is a good practice to share.
