The present work describes the maximum sighting of pedestrians with a classical lighting system at night. The perception of the presence of pedestrians at night on unlit routes is closely related to the type of clothing they wear, whether dark-colored or light-colored, and to the lighting system of vehicles traveling on the road. For this purpose, the deductive method was used. The techniques used were the test of the incidence of the lighting system, interviews and surveys. The tests were carried out using a New Vitz model Toyota brand car. Likewise, pedestrians whose clothing presented the characteristics of light and dark clothing, illuminated with low and high light, were part of the test. 15 tests were carried out for each variable in which the drivers were instructed to indicate if they can see the pedestrian, that is; if they can fully differentiate and identify him as a person, not as a shadow or a lump. In this sense, it was possible to measure that drivers saw pedestrians with light clothing, in which test the high light was used as illumination at a distance of approximately 65 m, while with low light only at 45 m. Meanwhile, darkly dressed pedestrians were seen at 55 m in high light and 15 m in low light.Downloads
