The merit-based competition is a selection process to hire suitable persons who will be assigned to a specific function; one of the competition stages is the knowledge test, which is applied in order to obtain useful information that will allow to identify both strengths and weaknesses in each area assessed. The aim of this paper is to determine, identify and analyse the subjects that can be improved in the Plan of Continuous Training, as well as the strengths and weaknesses in the test results, and to provide suggestions to optimize those results through the lectures that take place at the Centro de Entrenamiento (Training Center). In respect thereof, a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, with a study population of 564 exams that were implemented within the framework of the Intern Institutional Merit-based Competition number 001/18, for the Assistant Attorney. Out of that study population, a detailed study of the best participants (test score over 70%) was carried out, in order to identify the University they graduated from, the department where they serve, and also to determine if these participants took part in the Plan of Continuous Training at the Centro de Entrenamiento. The results of this research enabled to determine a middle level in the assessed areas, which, in turn, allows to provide suggestions within the field of competence, and to open a wide field of research on the same subject but with different approaches and depths.Downloads
